A science forum will be held simultaneously in Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macao from Nov 16 to 18, the first time that the forum is jointly hosted by governments of Guangdong and two of its neighboring special administrative regions.
The 2024 Greater Bay Area Science Forum, with the theme of "Opening Science Leading The Way", will include an opening ceremony, a main forum, 14 sub-forums and five featured events.
The opening ceremony and main forum will be held in Nansha district of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, on Nov 17, according to the event's organizers.
The 14 sub-forums will focus on cutting-edge and hot topics in the scientific and industrial sectors, providing suggestions for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to better participate in global technological innovation and accelerate the creation of an industrial and technological innovation center with global influence.
As this year marks the fifth anniversary of the release of the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, the forum will feature activities such as the Macao Forum, showcasing the positive results achieved in scientific and technological innovation cooperation and highlighting the importance of scientific and technological innovation as a key support for the development of the GBA.
Participants will discuss topics such as brain science and brain-like intelligence technology, artificial intelligence, future materials, future energy, aerospace and oceanography and green and low-carbon initiatives.
