According to a staff member from China Railway Guangzhou Group's Passenger Transport Department, the majority of passengers during the summer travel rush will consist of students, tourists, and individuals visiting family, with business travelers forming a smaller segment. Students and tourists are expected to predominantly travel between major cities and popular scenic spots such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu.
Initially, school-aged children from smaller inland cities will be traveling to cities including Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shenzhen. Later in the season, the movement will reverse as they return home.
