Birdwood's Velvet Bean resembles a "purple waterfall".
Spring brings a burst of Birdwood's Velvet Bean to Guangzhou's Baiyun Mountain.
These unique plants, resembling birds in their agility, boast peculiar flower shapes and a refreshing, natural charm. Inside the Baiyun Mountain Resort Hotel, the Birdwood's Velvet Bean wind around the corridors, hanging in clusters of 20 to 30 blooms each, creating a vivid imagery of flight.
The light green Birdwood's Velvet Bean exudes a fresh and elegant aura, while the purple ones, which are even rare, symbolize the arrival of auspicious vibes from the east, cascading down like a purple waterfall. These flowers, planted in 1962, have a history of 63 years.
The peak blooming season is expected to be from late February to March, and recommended viewing spots include the Baiyun Mountain scenic area and Guangzhou's Maofeng Mountain scenic area.
