In order to further meet the travel needs of residents in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, starting from March 7, the train operation of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway will be optimized, according to the China Railway Guangzhou Group Co., Ltd. (CR Guangzhou).
Three additional pairs of direct intercity trains between Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station and Shenzhen Railway Station will be introduced, namely trains C7101, C7109, C7120, C7138, C8008, and C8019, bringing the total number of direct trains to 27.5 pairs. The average operating interval between Guangzhou Baiyun and Shenzhen will be 33 minutes, with an increase in travel efficiency of 13.2%, reducing passenger waiting times and enhancing the travel experience. After the adjustment, Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station is expected to operate an average of 75 pairs of trains per day, with an anticipated increase in passenger traffic.
Meanwhile, three pairs of hourly direct trains—C8017, C8018, C8019, C8020, C8021, and C8022—will be added between Guangzhou East Railway Station and Shenzhen Railway Station. These services will reduce the total travel time to one hour, enabling passengers to travel on demand during peak hours.
Moreover, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway will also optimize its intermediate stop plan, with 11 additional train stops added at Xintang Station (新塘站) to meet the diverse travel needs of passengers.
For cross-line services on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway, 13 pairs of trains will continue to operate stably between Guangzhou East Railway Station and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, providing convenience for travel between Guangzhou and Hong Kong. A total of 23.5 pairs of cross-line trains will depart from Shenzhen, forming a radial railway network that covers East China, North China, and Southwest China.
Notably, the schedules of the EMU sleeper trains on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway, which stop at Guangzhou and Guangzhou East Railway stations, will be adjusted. The D901 and D903 services from Beijing West Railway Station to Shenzhen North Railway Station will adopt new schedules starting from March 6, while the D902 and D904 services departing from Shenzhen North Railway Station will be adjusted simultaneously from March 7.
In addition, the stop times of some EMU trains, such as D2285 from Dongguan South Railway Station to Nantong Railway Station, D2381 from Guangzhou East Railway Station to Xiamen Railway Station, G6545, G6553, G6555, and G6563 from Guangzhou East Railway Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, as well as G6558 and G6562 from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Guangzhou East Railway Station, will also be adjusted.
