The 2024 Guangzhou Marathon will take place on December 8th. The registration period for the race will last until 5:00 pm on September 19.
With the Half Marathon cancelled, the 2024 Guangzhou Marathon offers only a Full Marathon (42.195 km) category with a total race capacity of 26,000 participants. The starting point is set at Tianhe Sports Center and ends at Haixinsha with the finish arch situated on Star Avenue in Haixinsha Asian Games Park.
Runners can sign up for the race by visiting the official website of the Guangzhou Marathon (http://en.guangzhou-marathon.com/) or through the cooperative apps 'MARAMARA' (馬拉馬拉) or 'SHUZIXINDONG' (數字心動). If the number of applicants exceeds the set quota, a lottery will be used to determine the contestants, and the results will be announced in mid-October.
Furthermore, among those who are drawn for the 2024 Guangzhou Marathon and those who are not, the organizing committee will randomly select 100 runners each who meet the qualification requirements for the 2024 Beijing Marathon, granting them direct entry to participate in the Beijing Marathon.
This year, participants must be over 20 years old (born before or on December 31st, 2004). Additionally, runners are required to constantly assess their physical health status, meeting the competition requirements set by the Chinese Athletics Association. They must also provide proof of completion of a Full or Half Marathon between January 1st, 2022 (including) and September 9th, 2024 (including). Virtual Online Marathon results are invalid. The registration fee is 160 RMB per person.
