The Wanqingsha Interchange on the branch line of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway.
The drive time between Shenzhen and Guangzhou will be cut to less than 20 minutes when the Wanqingsha branch line of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway opens.
Set to open to traffic in the next 100 days, the Wanqingsha branch line will connect Guangzhou’s Nansha District to the newly opened Shenzhong (Shenzhen-Zhongshan) Link, according to the Nansha District Government.
A key part of transportation infrastructure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), the 32.4-kilometer Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway connects Nansha, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, and Shenzhen.
The Y-shaped expressway is composed of a mainline and the Wanqingsha branch line. The mainline, which connects Guangzhou and Zhongshan, opened to traffic in April.
After the Wanqingsha branch line opens, it will take vehicles less than 20 minutes to travel from the Nansha Port to the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport via the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and less than 15 minutes to Zhongshan via the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway.
